Our GirlUp chapter started the talk series Rubaroo-from us to you. Here we call in guest speakers to enlighten the audience with valuable knowledge on a certain agenda.
SESSION 1 (Harness the Buoyant Mind) 19th Sept’20
To get out of the clutches of the quarantine boredom and detox our mind and soul, we had Rtr. Karamjit Sandhu who enlightened us with her conversations and lessons about yoga, meditation and stress management in the virtual seminar.
SESSION 2 (From the Nutritionist’s Plate) 27th Sept’20
Dr. Ariti Bansal busted the myths about the dieting trend guiding us all about how a balanced diet can lift one's mood , give more energy , feed muscles, prevent illness, and strengthen the immune system.
SESSION 3 (Role of women in our society and breaking stereotypes about women) 11th Oct’20
Mr. Avi Vatsa, Executive Director of Youth for Human Rights International told about experiences of those who have ever come across any kind of eve teasing or sexual harassment.

Mr. Daksh Sethi is the Founder of Guby Rogers, which caters to the needs of students and professionals seeking personal and career guidance.
SESSION 6 A Date with yourself-27th Feb’21
Ms. Riddhi Doshi trains and coaches corporate leaders, educators and parents on issues of mental health and behaviour. She is an internationally certified Parenting Counsellor.
SESSION 7 EI-Reconsidering the Overlooked-10th Mar’21
She is founder of ‘Pro Touch’-Training Solutions (Corporate, Online and Classroom). She has completed XLRI- HRD course which helped to understand training dynamics. She is Certified NLP Practitioner, Certified POSH External Member and Certified Transnational Analyst Practitioner

Project Streedhan in Collaboration with Girlup India


GirlUp Ludhiana collaborated with Girlup India & Streedhan India to work on 'Project Period' - a month-long campaign that pushed for sustainable menstrual health practices, raised funds for the purpose and also advocated for including that in the national guidelines. Girlup Ludhiana was provided this opportunity by Girlup India to become a part of this project and for its active advocacy on menstruation related awareness. A lot of work was done through our social media handles to spread awareness during this project.

Project Jazbaa


Girl up Ludhiana in collaboration with Rotaract Club Ludhiana distributed sanitary pads and educated them about contraception, pregnancy, childbirth, perimenopause and Tips To manage Health during menopause to Women Around Hambran Road , Ludhiana.We helped them out to the best of our knowledge and overall Project Jazba was a great experience and a great team effort.

Global Goals-SustainableIsAttainable


Girl-Up Ludhiana took a step forward to spread the word around global goals,that also in a unique way. All the Members opted for their goals and then what,camera rolling - sound - action !! Members of various departments presented their viewpoints on the respective goal and all solutions to curb it by taking little steps in our day to day lives.
Our recent endeavor #SustainableIsAttainable has also been recognized and acknowledged by none other than the Girl Up Campaign itself under Girl Up Club Spotlight acknowledging a few of the clubs(among 3,300+) and leaders across the Globe hence making it to one among the two recognitions from India.

Women Of Today- (Orange The World)


The 16 days between 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and 10 December, Human Rights Day, are known as the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Campaign , a time to galvanize action to end violence against women and girls around the world.
This year's theme for the same was " Orange the world " as the colour "orange" symbolizes a brighter future and solidarity in eliminating all forms of violence .
Girl Up Ludhiana , in unanimity with the campaign, made its logo 'Orange' to mark an end to Gender - based violence , deeply rooted in our society and created cognizance for the same through its posts and hosted a Global Panel Discussion: Women Of Today . It demonstrated the causes and issues of violence against women persisting all over the world and suggested means to end it .

Fundraiser:Therapy and Repay


Today we look Art Therapy as a means to reduce anxiety, explore our emotions,increase self esteem and enhance our confidence.
So Girl up Ludhiana hosts this heart to heart with Ms.Sakshi Dhingra , an expressive art movememt based therapist and Certified NLP practitioner and Ms. Kritika Juneja who is an Expressive Arts based therapist and Certified Career counsellor who shall take us through the aspect of visual arts and help us in exploring ourself emotionally, mentally and physically through the medium of art.

Priya Prakash , the founder of Health Set Go joined exhorting us to find the magic inside our stout or lean yet beautiful bodies painted by the god and what being fit actually means.
She has been empowering women from colleges to develop confidence in themselves , achieve their personal goals and live their best life and will meet us for sharing her extensive knowledge .
An Inspiring Live Session with Grace B. Charrier On Cancer Awareness.
Our next speaker, Grace B. Charrier, a breast cancer survivor, and a passionate global patient leader. She is a Legislative Ambassador for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network and a Global Leadership Panel Member on Fight Cancer Global. Her passion for giving hope to those on the path she once was, Grace has proven that cancer does not have to be a death sentence whatsoever as long as one nips it in the bud early enough and refuses to be stigmatized.

Transgender community is increasingly visible in both culture and in daily life , but still they face enormous challenges and obstacles. Being a marginalized community, this community has been severely affected financially in the pandemic. We the members at Girl Up Ludhiana are trying to raise funds for Mansa Foundation headed by Mohini Mahant Ji who has been working tirelessly to provide safe environment to the community.
We raised Rs.10,000 through our fundraiser event and now would need your support to reach the target of Rs.25,000. Every contribution counts, help us provide safe haven for the ones who are always present in our celebratory moments.
